Add some cheer to your math block with this 4th of July Icon Roll & Remove Game—a hands-on, high-engagement activity that strengthens early addition skills using dice, number recognition, and playful game strategy!

Students line up 4th of July icons beneath numbered flowered hat cards. They then take turns rolling two dice, adding the dots, and finding the flowered hat with the matching sum. When they find the correct number, they remove one 4th of July icon from under that flowered hat.

Play continues until all 4th of July icons have been removed! Students LOVE resetting the 4th of July icons and playing again, making this an ideal open-ended math center for summer.
