How It Works

Option 1

1. Students choose a numbered circle.
2. Place it on Johnny's hat.
3. Count out the matching number of apples.
4. Feed Johnny by placing the apples on the mat.

Option 2

1. Students choose a numbered apple card.
2. Place it in the sentence prompt box.
3. Count the matching number of apple counters.
4. Feed Johnny and repeat with a new number.

Students can also extend the activity by using the included sentence-building pieces to create simple Johnny Appleseed-themed sentences.
